2012 Peace River Film Festival
The Peace River Film Festival is pleased to announce the opening of submissions to the 2012 Peace River Film Festival. Starting January 1 and continuing through July 31, 2012, filmmakers may submit their films via
or directly to the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda, Florida by selecting the “Submit Videos” menu item above.
Film categories for the 2012 festival include Open Shorts films, Florida Shorts, Student Shorts, Feature Films and Cell Shot Films. Feature Films and Cell Shot Films are new categories for 2012. A Feature Film is defined as any film with a total length of 60 minutes or more. The Cell Shot category is for films of any length shot using a cell phone. Detailed category rules may be found under the “Submit Videos” menu item above.
The 2012 Peace River Film Festival will take place beginning Thursday September 20th with a gala evening event at the Charlotte County Event Center featuring the winner of the Feature Film category. This will be followed by three days of festival events in the auditorium of Edison State College on their Charlotte Campus. The 2012 festival will include screenings of films from all categories, as well as workshops, and panel discussions with filmmakers.
2011 was the inaugural year for the Peace River Film Festival. It was a tremendous
event headlined by the appearance of Michael Uslan, the Executive Producer of the
